Please join to meet innovation manager for a Q&A and learn about financial and career opportunities as well as study credits that you can obtain through Business Factory and innovation services activities.

Each session will last only 20-30 minutes and they are organized on a weekly basis.

The aim is to increase interest towards different aspects of innovations, active students, and give them a possibility to participate in the development processes of innovations. Through the activities it is also possible to gain active business contacts and consequently increase opportunities for recruitment. Emphasis of the sessions will be on case examples and timely topics.

Business Chance is the open and common business idea competition for all students in universities part of the Vaasa consortium of higher education.

The aim of the business idea competition is to develop the students’ innovative thinking abilities, create new business ideas, establish a favourable entrepreneurial atmosphere and improve the presentation skills of students while fostering entrepreneurial growth. 

Benefits for Students

Students have the possibility to obtain an estimate of the market potential of business ideas and get valuable feedback from an evaluation team on how to develop business ideas further. Evaluation teams are formed by representatives of businesses in the region and financing companies. Students have the opportunity to present business ideas and show their presentation skills to members of the evaluation teams.

The business idea presentations may lead to an opportunity to establish a business. Additionally, students can improve their business ideas supported by the BusinessFactory network. The evaluation teams will select feasible business ideas which will get their own development groups and for example coaching will be provided for students.

By participating in the development of Vaasa consortium of higher education’s innovation activities and the business idea evaluation teams, companies have the opportunity to witness the occurrence of innovations among students and students’ presentation skills. Simultaneously, the reality of companies influences the curriculum of universities in Vaasa, innovativeness and the practical working abilities of students. As a result, companies have more prepared and innovative human resources readily available in the Vaasa region.
